Pop-up Party for a Princess!

The Princess reached the grand old age of 15 sometime in May!

The Prime Minister and Sir Ambassador Scout Ringo wondered what they could do to mark the occasion.  They consulted with friends and consulted with the media to see what may be especially pleasing to the Princess.  A surprise Pop-up Party seemed to be the answer.

Remembering the success of the frogs-legs picnic last summer, it was decided that Frog Alley would be a good place to meet; not only are there plenty of frogs, but the alley ends on a hill overlooking a creek and is especially scenic.  Being on a hill, there might be a breeze to keep the insects away.

With that solved, next came the question of the menu.  A frog-leg grill would be lovely if enough were caught, but they did not want to depend on the luck of the catch.  Over Memorial Day weekend, the Princess caught two more bunnies, so it was thought that perhaps she had a taste for rabbit.    A tasty rabbit stew would fill in any gaps left by a shortfall of frogs.

Since this was a surprise, and arranged on short notice, all guests were advised to travel via ess or tunnels if at all possible.  At the same time, a frog-netting contest was announced.

A special surprise for the Princess would be the attendance of Lady Scamper, representative of the equines with whom Ringo had treatied several years back.  Scamper had consented to providing the Princess with a ride during the festivities.

Countess Katie Isabella and Lady Audrey agreed to meet Sirs Simba and Spitfire in advance to prepare the site.  They found little to be done beyond arranging pillows and setting up the buffet area.  They took time to relax and net a few frogs in preparation for the lunch.

The PM is starting to receive messages that the other guests are in transit!  More to report soon!

  1. Our Ess was in rare form today and brought us here with great speed. It will be so much fun when the other guests arrive! We realize they may not be sure what time dusk is, but we are sure they will arrive soon. The smell of that rabbit stew is wafting all around and we are beginning to develop an appetite: time to scamper off and dispatch some of those frogs, we think!

    1. Sir Simba, I believe your Ess still have a bit of vapor trailing from the intense speed with which you and Lady Audrey arrived. Look-----> See?

  2. I am on my way in a flash! I was delayed a bit as I got distracted with my soft beddy-in-a-box and I experienced a brief Nap Attack, but I am all recovered now and am just finishing my baff to make sure my furs are all shiny for the occasion. I'll be there in a jiff-getting into my tunnel....NOW!

  3. Oh, good, Spitty is on his way! More fun to begin soon! When do we expect the Princess to arrive?

  4. I am so glad my Tunnel got me here so quickly. I waited to see when Sir Spitty would arrive...wait...that familiar whooosh! "SPITTY!" SMOOOOCH! Oh! Decorum must be followed.

Sir Spitfire and Sir Simba...I have enjoyed netting those frog with you. I wonder if we could recline just a moment on that lavender satin pillow before HRH Princess Treasure arrives? I wonder under what pretext the PM got her to agree to come here?

  6. Oh, yes, the setting for the party is lovely and I am so enjoying the chance to get together - it has been some time since we all gathered, hasn't it? I, too, would love to know under what pretext the PM has arranged for the Princess to come so we can surprise her. Do you think she will be here soon?

  7. Countess Katie (Queen Katie? it gets confusing), I do have to say your Ess was also in top form today. You came whizzing in so fast, I wondered if you were going to pass right past us, but you landed in exactly the right spot.
You do look ravishing on that lavender satin pillow. Will Sir Spitfire be in competition for your hand tonight?
I am off to see if I can gather a few more frogs - that stinky goodness I get at home is so ordinary when compared to these wonderful froggies!

  8. Popping out of my tunnel - looking around - this place is very very lovely. Did I just hear something about frogs? Should I go hunting for more of them?

  9. Oh fanks you Sir Simba. I know the Admiral was a great admirer of your handsome mancatly-ness. I shall repose here until one or both of you sit here with me and we will talk of the things to come until HRH Princess Treasure and Princess Coco arrive. It will be interesting to meet Lady Scamper. I don't believe I have had the pleasure.

  10. Simba will take you to the hunting grounds, Mario. Never too many froggie legs.

  11. hello Mario! It is interesting that some of us used the Ess method and some the Tunnel method for teleporting over here. Do you think one method is preferable to the other? Do any of you have both a tunnel and and Ess, who can give a comparison?
There is always a need for more frogs! Would you like me to join you?

    1. I use my Tunnel when I am in a hurry and cannot deviate. I use my Ess when the way is fairly straight on, and the distance shorter..no need to worry about angles.

  12. Thank you Lady KatieIsabella. I'll run then to catch up with Simba.

  13. Thank you Simba for offering to go frog hunting with me. That would be delightful. Yes, I use my magic tunnel for transport. I'm afraid I don't have an Ess, so I cannot compare which one is more reliable or speedy. It's a very interesting question and I hope we learn the answer.

  14. Sir Spitfire, the other gentlemen have gone off and left you here with Countess Katie Isabella and me. How shall we pass the time? Perhaps a little music and a dance?

  18. If anything happens and my tunnel tries to return with me I want to wish Princess Treasure the happiest of birthdays and I wish to tell her how beautiful she is. She has accomplished so much in her fifteen years. A pleasure to know her.

    1. I do so agree. I notice Lady Audrey has dozed off on the satin pillows, full tummy of frogs, while awaiting the arrival of the Princess. Fifteen years is a wonderful age to have attained and on behalf o Audrey and me, I wish her a very happy birthday and a wonderful year to come.

  19. Mario and I are back with a goodly catch of frogs - please help yourselves, all.

Countess Katie Isabella, now that I have returned, and Sir Spitfire seems rather quiet this evening, yes, I would greatly enjoy the chance to dance with you.

  20. My tummy is full now too. I think I will also curl up on the pillows and take a little nap. Please awaken us both when the Princess arrives.

  21. I too would like to wish Princess Treasure a very very happy birthday with many more to come. It's been a lovely party, and I so appreciated the invitation to join you. I do feel like I need a nap too, and perhaps should return home in my tunnel for that.

  23. Well, here I am back again and some have left--but wait! I see Lady Audrey's pale orange tail still sparkling in the moonlight! Hello, my darling! It is so nice to see you here, all alone and waiting just for me. Perhaps we should have a final dance? I am sure we could find a nice romantic tune to hum while we sweep gently around the dance floor--and look! a few extra frog legs! Has the princess already been here? Or shall we reassemble tomorrow?

  24. That was a lovely pawty. Now that we have recovered somewhat from the exhausting journey home (on very full tummies), we would just like to say "Thank you" once again for the wonderful hospitality. And we hope the Princess's NEXT 15 years will be just as good as the first 15!
